SUT or New Cart?

Hi,

I am a bit overwhelmed as of late.
I was using an LP12 turntable, Dynavector 20X2L cartridge with an LFD Phonostage LE Special.
The sound was quite good actually, even stunning at times.

Unfortunately for reasons I don't really care to discuss here, I no longer have the LP12 but now own a brand new VPI Scout.

The combination of the VPI Scout, the 20X2L and the LFD's MC input proves a little bit on the dull side.

My question is this. Should I use the LFD's MM section instead and get a step up transformer?

If so, which Step Up Transformer would you suggest?

Another option I guess would be to get a new cartridge with a higher output but the Dynavector 20X2L --- 0.3mV (at 1KHz, 5cm/sec.) is brand new. I would return it for the high output version but I've had it about 2 months and don't think that is an option.

I do know many people own the VPI Scout and many people own the Dynavextor 20X2L but I do not know very many people with the LFD Phonostage LE Special (the upgraded LFD Phonostage LE)

Any comments or suggestions?

Thank You

Playing with SUT devices might get tricky in terms of playing with load impedance. There are charts that you can download in order to load the cartridge properly. IMHO it's always better either to use different cartridge or different phonostage (preferably with no internal step-up device).
