Suggestions for speakers for music listening

My current system is about 10 years old:two pairs of Primus P162’s, a Primus PC350 center and a BIC V1220 sub. I use it mostly for HT but I also do some casual and serious music with listening the system.

Overall I am very pleased with as a HT system and I do enjoy it as a music system but I do realize it has limitations in that area.

We will be buying a new house at some point and we will convert on of the 2nd/3rd bedrooms into a media room.(My research indicates that secondary bedrooms are typically 10X10 to 12X12 in size if that helps).

My intent is to upgrade the sub to something like a Rythmik L12 or a HSU VTF-2 Mk5 and get a pair of speakers purely for music and run them using Zone 2. My current AVR is an eight year old Denon 1912 . I will use that for a while but any upgrade will be in that general category.

i would like to stay under under $1000 for the speakers. I prefer something from Crutchfield, an ID direct brand, a good used deal or something I might buy from a local dealer in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

Any suggestions, please?

i have posted this elsewhere but there seems to also be a fine group of clever people here.

Thanks.

Treatments are a different budget.  No issues with placement.

Either bookshelf or floor speakers are fine.
The treble is a bit harsh /fatiguing .

i am auditioning a pair of ELAC UB5’s right now and they seem to offer more detail and clarity.

The ELAC may a bit unforgiving on placement and they do need a bit of power. But they are at least a step in the right direction.

i am not set on the Elacs yet by any means but I do notice a difference.

Does this help?

Thanks.
