Suggestions for an amp to drive JM Lab Cobalt 816

Greetings,

I have a pair of Cobalt 816's, which I really do enjoy, that are currently driven by a Carver AV-64. The Carver is driving me nuts. The sound I'm getting is quite sibilant especialy on Cheryl Crow's C'mon C'mon disc, although perhaps that has something to do with the recording. Anyway I'm looking for a new amp to help smooth things out a bit. I prefer seperates although I've been eyeing some of Jolida's integrated stuff lately. Can anyone with a pair of 816's leave some comments? Keep in mind my budget limits me to sub $1.5k for an amp.
