Success with suggestions from friends, and failures...

Throughout my life I have had success with music recommendations from friends.  Of the few failures I have had, most tended to be on the "weird for the sake of weird" side.  But much of lesser known artists were from the suggestions of close friends.  One of the best "suggestions" was from a long gone friend, Talking Heads.  He and I would enjoy great food together while watching "Stop Making Sense".
