Subwoofer placement problem solved...

Although I'm just a newbie here, I felt compelled to share my recent experience...this past weekend, A friend of mine brought over an old friend of his who works at Cary Audio...I got to audition some of his stuff including the new "rocket88" amplifier & to my novice ears, it was pretty damn nice...anyhow, on to the important things...He told me that to get the best Sub placement, what I should do is plop my subwoofer down in my preferred listening position...(in this case, right on top of the center cushion of my couch) and then while playing music, walk around the room and take notice in the changes of the Bass response. The location that the sound is the best, is the proper place to put your sub. I tried this & voila...it worked. So anyhow, my hat goes off to Chuck (sorry, I dont know his last name) over at Cary Audio for helping my system to sound better.

I find it works best when I put the sub in my normal listening postion, leave the room, walk to the pub, drink several pints and then return to the room and sit just about anywhere.

Seriously that is good advice you were given. I ended up placing a single sub according to the Cardas method for main speaker placement, next to the right main speaker. It looks a bit odd but it sounds good.
