Many of these subs have speaker level inputs. You connect thinner wire connections from your amp (or speaker) to the sub. Depends on the model so you should check first. The subs have a high impedance input so present no load on the amp.
Subwoofer advice !
Hello!I'm looking for advice on purchasing either an added item / converter / box / to make my old school amp work with a Floor Sub.(OR)a {New} Two-Channel Amp. This amp needs to be able to Drive a (pair) of J.B.L. Century L-100's MKII Bookshelf Speakers.I'd like to be at least 100 Watts Per Channel. Also: I'd like to connect up a 12" Velodyne S.P.L. Floor Sub to this Amp.I'll be using a Sony (5) C.D. disk changer, as my main source of listening.I'd like to also have a Strong signaled F.M. Tuner. {for my living room} 20' X 25' space. Magnum Dynalab & the Sansui TU-7U17 comes to mind, as good stuff. The Pittsburgh Area has some really good F.M. Classic Rock stations.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Question):Right now! I own a {Mint Shape}"1977" SANSUI AU-717 Two- Channel Amp @ 85 Watts Per, & Sansui TU-717 Tuner. {Still awesome old school stuff}!I like the old school stuff! L.O.L. Because I'm oldBut! How can a S.P.L. 12" Velodyne Floor Sub be connected to the back side of this Sansui AU-717? If at all! Back in those days, they didn't have In's & Out's for Subwoofers. That's why I'm inquiring about what can I do to add this 12" Floor Sub to The Sansui AU-717? Do I need to purchase some type of converter to connect to the Amp & Sub?Any type of help (or) comments will be appreciated!
