Dear Lindisfarne: Well, first step is just visual: is it cantilever straigth how looks the stylus? seems that the owner was a person that take care on this analog rig?.
Second step is to look the stylus through a magnifying glass of at least 50x and the third step is to heard it after a fine tune on its set up and after cleaning carefuly and then you can confirm in what condition is that cartridge.
