Stupid Volume Question

I have a Mac Mini as my music server running into an Audio Research LS-16. I have an aftermarket remote that I run it with. I use Apple Remote on my sell phone for music selection but I have always used the physical remote for volume control. The volume on Apple Remote was grayed out.

Well, the batteries on the remote died and when I put new batteries in the volume control went back to Apple Remote and I can't remember how to set it back to being controlled solely by the pre-amp.

Can anyone help a sort-of old man with bad memory here?

Never mind. My memory is worse than I thought. The volume setting on Apple Remote was always set on max and then controlled on the pre-amp via the physical remote.

It is with an older Sonos Connect into the pre-amp that the volume in Sonos is 'fixed' and controlled only by the pre-amp.
