Streaming Tidal/Qbuzz Vs Internet Radio
My question is, why do some of the radio channels on my streamer sound better than Tidal or Qbuzz ? I have an Innuos streamer to a Schiit Yiggy and subscribe to both Tidal and Qbuzz. I listen to Radio Paradise and Dot 1 FM , and they have better sound quality than the paid services. Although this is not the case with most radio stations these two sound very good to me. Granted they play at a slightly higher volume, but when I adjust for this I still get a better soundstage, more detail and greater bass. When I play the radio channels on my small system I have to lower the subwoofer volume. On my larger system I do not run subs. So I’m curious if you’ve noticed this too, and any explanations would be appreciated. Cheers , Mike B.

@jbuhl , Nice bike ! Father Time caught up with me. Sold my two motorcycles, gave away 3 pairs of Volkl’s, my carbon road bicycle is a wall ornament. My stereo has gone from a luxury to a necessity. Starting to build a larger system and trying to progress with streaming music. It’s easier than playing vinyl, but not as good yet. I grew up on dirt bikes and was riding my dads ‘68 Triumph Bonneville on the street at 15. If I was young again I’d have a hot Super Moto for the street. Most of my buddies raced short track and flat track. They were better , but I was pretty good at backing a bike in on asphalt. Nothing more fun than counter steering into a corner and lifting the front coming out. “ The Older I get , the faster I was “ ! Cheers, Mike B. |
@steakster Hannah was bad ass ! And he’d do it with a smile. I live in central California. Back in the day I saw Kenny Robert’s and the gang at Laguna Seca, Bruce Penhall win the world speedway finals at the LA Coliseum. Springstead at San Jose and Sacramento. Bruce Mclaren and the Formula One gang in Can-Am at Laguna and Riverside. Mario and AJ , the Unsers at March Banks in Hanford. I just love the old stuff. Your Lemond is cool ! I have a 1984 Miyata hanging in the garage. My buddy rode a Lemond from that era, it had the elliptical chain ring. We flew large u-control model planes. I think most of us on this site have a lot in common as we all like mechanical based hobbies. Happy riding , Mike B. |
