Compressed music is actually worse for your ears than uncompressed music that has a great dynamic range. Ears can cope with loud peaks. If the music is compressed and at one loud volume level, it is this constant loudness that is bad for your hearing.
Stop compressing our bloody music!!!!!!!!!!!

Dynamic Range: No Quiet = No Loud (think about it)
Our ears/brains and music don’t get a chance to breathe during the quite passages.
