Stax ELS-F81

I recently acquired and had rebuilt a set of Stax ELS F-81s

I am having trouble with sound levels as it seems like I do not have enough volume knob movement to let them play at a decent volume. Anyone have any insight?

I use a Rogue Cronus Dark as both an Intergrated Amp and as a Power Amp (Rogue built in a switch to buy pass the internal preamps so it can just be a power amp), Rogue Ares phono stage and a Rogue Metis Dark preamp.

I got them in November and used for a bit but ultimately put my Quad 57s back in. Recently I put them back in the system, let charge for two days and now they seem to make static noises and when output does come out, it causes the power tubes to pulse blue with the music.

Any help or experience would be appreciated.

Static noises could be caused by uneven electrical charge on the diaphragms. Two days run-in should have been enough time for the electrical charge to even out over the diaphragms’ surface. Give the panels more time to charge. You can still play music while this happens.
