Speaking of phono, line preamp and driver tubes, how close a match do we want ?
12AX7, 12AU7 etc. tubes. Both between or among tubes and within each tube.
I understand, 7% or so match is considered fine, but for some reason I want a closer match. Am I wrong ?

Is the balance between internal sections of the tube more important than balance between two tubes ?
I am not sure about VAC design but don't think Avatar's integrated circuit is balanced. Don't know about feedback.
