I'm curious to hear the actual solution that was the initial intent of this discussion.

From my standpoint I have an answer. 

Buy Vandersteen. Not dull or lifeless!

Very clever although I am disappointed there was no tweak du jour to solve the worlds home audio concerns.

 I will reflect back on this post the next time I have a battle of the bands in my garage.
