Speaker placement

I had an interesting experience today: a studio acoustical engineer came to my house and spent the day doing measurements and giving advice on set up.

I spend a lot of time adjusting my speakers and gear (SF & Mc). Well how wrong I have been. We spend an afternoon adjusting speaker placement, toe in, and listening position. Now, I’m not talking huge changes, 18 inches here, 2 inches there, etc., but the results are quite amazing.

Imaging is vastly improved, glare eliminated, and sound stage is improved.

These small differences easily equal hardware changes I have made and all we did is move things around a bit here and there.

This is all before any room treatment, which will be coming.

Lesson learned for me.
