Speaker placement.

10' x 13' room, which would you opt for, speaker width

Or speaker depth? And why? (Standard height)

Not sure I understand, but I always prefer putting speakers on the short wall and giving them some space to breathe away from the back wall but still need some space from side walls as well. In that room I’d start with the speakers at least 3’ out from the back wall and 2’ away from the side walls and start there and then adjust to your liking.  You’ll also want to experiment with toe in — I tend to prefer the speakers firing just outside my shoulders, but all this is very speaker, room, and taste dependent so use these only as general guidelines to start and work from there accordingly.  Just my $0.02 FWIW.

Sorry for not being more clear.

I'm intimately familiar with placement. Like

you, I got trained with speakers focused just

behind my head.

I'm just curious, if you don't have a square room

Would you prefer to seat closer to the speakers

(Near field) but spaced out further by ring on the

Longer wall or prefer seating further away with perhaps

"Slightly limited" sound stage. Just curious.

Hi  @jawfx01

It would be great to see your system. This would help in making recommendations. There is a place to put photos.. and identify your components. There are so many variables, and many depending on your speakers and components. It would really help.

Each room depends on speakers, walls, and electronics.
