Speaker pairing for audiolab 9000 series

I'm looking for a speaker pairing for my system.  The system is bridged (2 amps).  I currently have klipsch heresy IV's,  but just don't love the sound.  I know there are many variables involved, but let's just assume everything is perfect.  I don't need to burn the house down, but like to turn it up a little bit sometimes.  I'm also not a millionaire.  TIA for any insight.

Fifty miles is close. I used to drive 120 miles every couple months. I'd get up early, be there when they open. I've visited places across the country while on business trips.

Locate and call in advance making an appointment for when you will be in. tell them the kind of electronics you have and anything you can tell them about your preferences. Then they can be ready for you.

I would say that your amp probably does not restrict your choice of speakers a lot. In other words you don't have to have tremendously efficient speakers. Main stream in terms of requirements.

So, you really should listen to some of the major brands... even if a trip is required. I would also spend more than the cost of your audiolab 9000 if you can afford it... used would net you even better.

I would listen to DynAudio, Sonus faber, B&W, and maybe Totem. Be cautious not to simply choose the speaker with the most treble and bass. This can net you a speaker that is heartless.

Try to listen to the music and not the speaker... which ones move you?

Auditioning, very important.
