Hello everyone, I am an audio tech that just moved to the area recently and I was surprised to not find any groups, clubs or otherwise down here. Just a few threads such as this one that seem to fade out after a while. Does anyone do any kind of meet ups besides the occasional at Soundlux? I’m in Miami Beach and setting up a shop in Hialeah.
South Florida - join in and make a REAL effort!
Ok, I have browsed the periodic threads for the Miami and other South Florida areas for audio clubs. The interested parties are out there, but the thread posts are too few and far between, not to mention they span a few threads.
So, I will promise to act as the ring leader and gather the info and try to get something going! If you are interested, post here, tell us your city and e-mail. I'll make a list and if we get some traction, I will send out an e-mail to any interested parties so we can all make something happen!
In another post I was putting out a feeler to see if there are any vinyl fans who would like to share the cost of a high end record cleaner. That can be something that some local vinyl fans may be interested in.
I would be happy to connect and hang out with other music nuts from time to time. So, let it begin!

@voltaicq not that i know of. I was not aware of meetups at Soundlux. Is there a schedule? What will you shop specialize on? You mention being an audio tech, you mean professional audio or electronic tech/repair? |
I was only made aware of the meetups at Soundlux from one of the presenters who had shared the events, I think they do Classic Album Sundays too. I think they may actually be in the middle of a remodel now. My shop will specialize in professional and home audio electronics and a dealership for custom built audio components / modifications. I am the technician for Underwood Hifi, Blue Circle, and a few other hifi brands. Looking to have all of the paperwork finalized and officially open by the end of this month. www.quarkaudio.com
