Anyone else constantly curious about amps?
If you can't afford it but still feel that urge maybe it is time to consider what exactly you are wanting or missing out of your system. Perhaps a component you have can be modified or upgraded, or maybe sell some things you no longer use to fund ...
Using external DAC with preamp with built-in DAC
If you like the sound of the DAC you are using, you may be better off buying a preamplifier that focuses only on the analog circuit. You could bypass the other built in DAC but it seems counterintuitive and increases the risk of noise.
GaN FET Amps vs. Traditional Class D Amps
GaN operates at a much higher switching frequency and allows for less noise, higher efficiency and less distortion. There are quite a few Class D types out there and each has its own "sound" based on the designer and the quality of the output filt...

Gilbert Yeung C312 Preamplifier Review
Well laid out PCBs are utilized even here in the C312. The open wires are much better than laced or bundled wires to reduce crosstalk or interference. Point to point is, and always will be better than quick connectors.
Gilbert Yeung C312 Preamplifier Review
There are a lot of techs who are intimidated by this form of assembly, and I am sure some of that is also due to how AG carefully conceals the finite details of the amplification stages throughout. Truthfully I find it easier and more enjoyable wo...

Thank you for your comment MrD, I agree wholeheartedly. I actually started as a repair tech working on new and vintage equipment; AGY reached out to me to review the C312 preamplifier as I had a technical background and was also an admin for an au...
Infinity F.E.T. preamp
