SOTA Turntables

Hi, anyone have experience with the new Sota Turntables?   I'm interested in the Eclipse , but also the Moonbeam and Comet.  Any advice on these tables is appreciated.  I'm on the fence with buying a Technics 1500 or 1210gr and these are in the same price range.

Thanks.

I think you mean the Escape. The urban series of turntables is representative of the class. There is only so far you can go and keep the price down. The Escape is probably the best of the three and it is a great value in comparison to other turntables in it's price range. However, Sotas do not really come into their own until you get to the Sapphire and the Nova with Vacuum is a game changer at that price.

The nice thing about Sota is they have an excellent trade up program so starting with the Escape you could work your way up the line as money and desire allow.

Yes its the Escape.....   looking to get back into vinyl.     It's the same money as the Technics 1210gr and was wondering how reliable SOTA is in general.

They are very reliable. The company is also renown for it's service. I have owned Sotas since 1981 and have never had a problem.

I just pulled the trigger on an Escape with Origin arm and 1.5" platter.   Undecided on a cartridge....  looking at phono preamps before choosing.

I received the Escape.    I took my time and set it up with an Ortofon 2M Bronze and initial impressions are very good.  I was actually very surprised how good it sou ded through a budget NAD phono pre.   That is my next upgrade.  A decent phono pre.
