Sony XA5400ES issue

Hi group,

Need some advice: I have a Sony XA5400ES SACD player which is now having a bit of an issue.

When it's playing, I hear a mechanical "whirring" noise - it's faint, but noticeable. It's become more pronounced in the past few months. I wish I could be more descriptive, but it sounds like it's a mechanical thing; when I pause a disc I still hear it.

Any ideas? Could this be an issue with the transport mechanism?

Discs are read and they play fine.

I realize this is an older SACD and it's been a wonderful performer. It still sounds fantastic.

Again, open to your ideas. If you have recommendations for a good service tech, I'd appreciate those, too.

Thanks.

I get this noise when playing MQA disks. Is your noise constant?

Another issue: In the future, I will never purchase another new disk player unless it comes with two new replacement LASER assemblies. These should last a good ten years each with moderate use.
