Soliciting opinions about upgrading

OK, don't laugh. I have a Nakamichi CA-1 preamp and PA-1 amp. They are getting old. The amp is 100x5. I need 7 channels instead of 5. I am thinking about using my
Nakamichi amp to push my rears, center and satellite speakers. I want a better quality amp to push my front speakers which are B&W 802 Matrix series 3.
(I may upgrade these too soon) I listen to music much more than movies. I am also thinking about getting a tube amp for my fronts. However, I don't know much about these either other than I am told they sound better. I am
also thinking about just getting a good 7 channel amp instead and having only 1 amp to deal with. I am hoping you guys/gals can help me.

Can you recommend a good preamp too?

Thanks.

Thanks for the great comments! I have no plans to have 7 channels with my HT system. I agree 5 channels are fine. However, I have several sattelite speakers throughout my home which I currently push with two mono-block amps. I would prefer to have 1 amp push both my HT system as well as my sattelite speakers.

I am torn between doing a 7 channel amp for everything and selling my current amps or using my 5 channel amp to push everything except my fronts and purchase a high power 2 channel amp for my fronts.

I am into music 90% of the time. I don't know if one preamp could do what I want (if I go with the 2 channel high power amp)

Should I just go with a high power 5 channel amp for the HT and keep my mono blocks for the sattelites? Will this do justice to my B&W 802 matrix speakers? I am also thinking about upgrading to B&W 802 Nautilus someday. Which 5 channel amp + preamp combination would you recommend? I wouldn't want to spend more than 10K for an amp/preamp.
Thanks!
