Small bookshelf upgrade from Sonos SL in large kitchen area

Does anyone have a recommendation for a small bookshelf speaker (active or passive) that is a meaningful upgrade from a Sonos SL?  While  I use Roon, I am compelled to use either a Sonos port or amp in the space because I have another speaker set in the LR connected by a Sonos Port and a Sonos Move in the adjoining family room to the kitchen.   The speakers do indeed sit on bookshelves to each side of a small fireplace.
