single drive speaker for VTL IT 85 integrated

Hi audiogoner,
I am in the path to upgrade my proac bookshelf speaker to something bigger, more dynamics.Proac sounds excellent with chamber classical music. But it lacks the impact when it plays orchestra music.I've been thinking Tannoy Edinburgh, sterling speaker, and research single drive speakers like fostex and lowther drive based speaker.any suggestion of speakers that can play both chamber and orchestra music well with VTL.thanks for any suggestion.KB

Tall order for a full orchestra. Either look at spkrs like the Yorkminster or Canterbury (Tannoy) /Pi speakers OR compromise on the full Mahlerian orch & consider Cain&Cain, Zu, etc.

Go for s/thing that's over 95db spl nominal sensitivity so you can reach ~110db spl with yr amp before clipping.

BTW, these spkrs sound marvellous
