Thanks for the post. I pulled the trigger and bought a CD-1 which is the same as the 260d. The unit I purchased has received the upgrade companies signature edition mods so I am anxious to see how it sounds once it is in place in my system!
Just put one in my system today. Quite nice. Not thin sounding at all. Has nice dynamic contrasts even at low level which sometimes is hard to pull off. No experience with the 260d as a transport only.
