should I bother putting a DAC inbetween MacBook Pro and AudioEngine A5+??

Because of Covid Chaos I had to hit the road for a paycheck. Gonna be in a hotel room for 5 months. With just Youtube thru my MacBook for music. Just bought a pair of AudioEngine A5+. Plugging in thru headphone jack.

1) Should I bother getting a DAC?
2) If so, which one?
3) Output-wise, the MacBook just has headphone and (2) Thunderbolt 3 ports. How to best connect the DAC you suggest to MacBook?

By the way, I stick with Youtube because I'm most interested in live performances. Like this asskicker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnmsKamHyvs
Thanks in advance for any mercy you can spare.

Take it in steps. 1) How does one output from thunderbolt port. Any Apple outlet should solve this. Maybe Thunderbolt to USB converter.
2) Purchase DAC. 3) Improve signal with via streaming Qobuz.

If using USB you might look for a used Modi 2. It is USB only and USB powered. Would cost ~$50. I use one with my Macbook pro, an older model with USB output. Less cords to carry around, plug in.
A DAC would be an improvement. Schitt Modi is a great option. Need not spend more. Not sure about thunderbolt connection however.
