Share MYSTICAL, HAUNTING songs
I want to thank everyone who contributed to my last request for albums where all the songs were good. I find myself going back to my favorite genre of music (if it is such a thing), Mysterious, Mystical, Haunting type songs. My ‘Best of Mysterious’ CD’s have a lot of playtime.
I don’t want to overwhelm everyone right off the bat, so here are a few from my playlist:
Would welcome your contributions. Thanks in advance. Corey

Pilgrims Of The Mind ---Sandcastle Music does not need lyrics to communicate, in fact, it's better if it doesn't. Words pollute the mind. It's that Buddhist thing. To begin anew, first the mind must be emptied, as it is 'full'. First comes - silencing the mind. Getting rid of the noise. That means, the least of it is...music with no lyrical content. |
Thank you OP for a great topic! Thank you teo_audio for introducing the importance of silence and stillness as a tool to access the mystical aspects of music. I bet the mystics would have an easy time recognizing when music is beautiful and hunting. I’m listening to Van Morrison Montreux Live 1974 and I dare to suggest this is some wonderfully mystical music! thank you to my fellow audio enthusiast! |
Awesome lists. Agree with many of these, and others I have never heard of them. I will have to do some studying! I will have to compile some of mine, but real quick, I would add Mazzy Star. IMO, quite a few "haunting" moody songs. Also, their singer Hope Sandoval solo works. A few examples from their 1993 "So Tonight That I May See" album:
Throw them on late at night... Don’t forget to freshen up that nightcap... |
