Seeking advice

I'm trying to decide between the Triangle theta bookshelf speakers and the Monitor audio gold 100 6g. My amp is a Parasound Halo A21 +. Does anyone have any experience with the Triangles? Thank you in advance.

I am a big fan of Triangle. I have Antals and had Celius in the past. The Celius were magic in the midrange, the Antals were very good The only speaker that could really judge an amps sound. You might need two good subs if you like a full range system but I can't recommend them enough for serious listening.

@gano anybody visiting the lilac city can spend an evening enjoying the lights of the American pavilion, and enjoy some of their time listening to the music 🎶.

If it helps this morning I ordered the monitor audio gold 100 6g. Currently have KEF  LS 50 Meta. Let the fireworks begin!

haven’t heard either, I would rather see you restore a compact 3 way with larger woofer and no port, like AR-2ax which also have the advantage of level controls for the mid and tweet to adjust in any space. Dimensions to fit in or on a bookcase or stand.

monitors are only 86.5 db sensitivity, have a rear port, the advantage is you can buy from crutchfield and return them.

triangle’s have front port, 90db sensitivity, who will take a return?

my guess, any speaker with 6 or 6-1/2" largest driver, you will end up adding a sub or two, then change to a 3 way eventually.

compact jbl with 12" woofer, level controls, a bit bigger than the AR-2ax, front port, the level controls are more convenient than in the back, but once adjusted,

two options

aside from sensitivity, check the impedance, nominal and lowest dips

I’ve had two sets of TRIANGLE standmounts  in prior systems. They can really boogie, and I am looking for another pre-owned pair to eventually upgrade my “C” system,

My take:

- System synergy is key, and the TRIANGLES are very accommodating.with quality upstream electronics. I never found them fatiguing when paired up with quality-build British options,

- this review link below has an accurate assessment:summary extracted :

Simple, elegant, sonic excellence

I’m guessing our European readers know more about Triangle than our American readers, but they are working very hard to change that in the months to come. If you’d love a gorgeous pair of standmount speakers in this price range, and looking for something a bit different than what everyone else might be listening to, seek out the Thetas. They stand out in the crowd.

PS: They have premium finishes as standard , and they look great .

2nd PS: Ive not owned MONITORS but I have auditioned them several times at audiofests. The one time that I liked them enough to consider them as contenders personally, was when they were paired up with top CYRUS electronics. That was a system pairing that “worked” for me.

if bass is important to you, I have yet to hear a Monitor Audio pair that impressed me. Excels in the accurate and detailed aspect though.

I avoid suggesting a third option when the question is narrowed down to A and B, but the World (usaudiomart) is your oyster.... besides

the Monitor is the more balanced sounding of the two with less colouration comparatively so imo that is the better buy. the Triangle will wow on first listen but become annoying and lead you to question your other gear later down the line @spoonman16510
