If your SGC server running Roon core is connected to your network, all you should need is another Roon endpoint (could be as simple as a Raspberry pi unit) that is also connected to your home network and that feeds a DAC which outputs an analog signal to your amplification. Linked here is an example of a relatively inexpensive Roon endpoint unit.
Second streamer in a Roon system. "Digital for analogue brains"
A rather simple question for some, but for us analogue people still a question.
I have run Roon on a SGC server and Electrocompanient DAC/Streamer in my main system. All hardwired; no Wifi.
I am setting up a second head phone based system in my upstairs office with spare components and things my children have moved on from ( or have forgotten about). So far I have a cheap DAC, a nice headphone amp, and a CD player. I want to add streaming via Roon. My assumption is that all I need is a streamer which I will plug into one of the many mesh pods that inhabit the walls of our house.
Is that correct? Or do I need another roon core/server ( can't see why I would but thought I would ask).
Many thanks. I used to feel like the dad in the comic strip "Zits", but now realize I am approaching the grandpa in "Pickles" ( though no grand kids yet).
