Saw Brian Ferry Last Night!

Great Show! So if he comes your way and you like classics like Avelon go see him. Great musicians and he sings as well if not better than ever. Maybe he doesn't bow as deeply. Also the Opera House in Boston has turned into a great venue. Sound quality is excellent. You even get an image, sort of an image.

Good for you!
Would love to have seen Bryan in his Roxy Music heyday but another one that eluded me.
uberwaltz, there is a DVD of a Roxy reunion concert (everybody but Brian Eno) Live at the Apollo. Great DVD. The High Road is another worth having.
While I have never seen him solo, I was lucky enough to see him and Roxy Music several times back in the day.  Fantastic shows.

Still one of my favorite groups.

He is going to be here at the Paramount on the 25th.  Might have to just go see him.

Thanks for the heads up!
I saw he was touring and wondered about the quality of performance, esp bc the venues look awesome - thanks for the headsup!
Nice! I saw Roxy Music's Siren tour in '76 at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. One of the best show's I've ever seen.
I saw Roxy Music's final performance of their final tour in 1983 at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia.
They wouldn't tour again until their reunion in 2001.

That show was one of the greatest experiences in my long history of seeing live music.

Brilliant performer. Saw the Beacon show NYC 2016 and Chastain Park ATL 1988. When the large woman hit the Avalon big notes it was chill bump city.
Excellent! I have tickets here in San Diego on the 27th, can't wait! Flesh and blood was a greatly produced album with great sound
Unfortunately Atlanta is as far South as he is venturing so no go for us guys this time around.

Shame.
Straight to the heart.  That's where Bryan Ferry's voice goes.
Good on you for seeing him live.
Glad to know he's still out there.
Excellent!  It's great to hear live music whenever possible, and even greater when the venue has a properly designed sound stage.  Isn't that what this hobby is all about?  I too missed out on this bands live concerts, but still enjoy the Avalon record and Roxy Music.  How would you compare the live music concert to the recorded studio version?
Going to see him here in Atlanta next Thursday. I saw Roxy Music at the outdoor arena here called Chastain in 2001. The Roxy show was one of the best I have ever seen. Bryan Ferry really knows how to entertain with a very tight band and always includes talented female musicians. This particular Roxy show had Vegas style dancers with headdresses that made them about 8 feet tall! The Thursday show is at the Tabernacle which is an old church that has been updated into a funky concert hall. I will post a review.
Everyone have a Great Time!! He is complete with his gorgeous and fabulously talented female musicians.
So the Atlanta show was terrific. As usual, Mr. Ferry had a tight band and was generous sharing the spotlight with them even though the show was centered around Bryan. I was particularly impressed by the sax player, Jorja Chalmer. She is from Australia and was born in 1982- the year that Avalon was released. I think that she could easily have been a cover model for one of the old Roxy Music albums. Highlights of the show for me were "Just Like Tom Thumb Blues" and the screaming violin solo from "Out of the Blue". Ferry's voice was strong, he still oozes class, and probably most important of all, he seemed to be having a really good time.
