sample rate indicator display

Morning all. Thanks for all your past help, it has been appreciated. If I'm fortunate enough to get this answered now, it will avoid calls to companies later.

I have a Benchmark DAC 3B and a Meitner DAC MA-1 (newest DAC) I will go over both of these unit again this morning.   I have noticed (If memory serves) that when playing Redbook CD's the appropriate sample rates are reflected and illuminated for CD's on both DAC's.  When I move to  stream (via Amazon HD service)  USB to play through my windows based computer, the following is observed. INFO: When on Amazon HD it will show the song being played and at what sample rate. It ranges between, CD quality 16/44 and streaming up to 192. However, the indicator lights ( I believe, if memory serves)  regardless of Amazon indicating song playing at 48/96/192 show on display on both DAC's at 192. I listened yesterday on system that has the Newest Meitner DAC installed and it never changed from 192 light on regardless if song was being played at 96, according to Amazon rate indicted on computer . Both DAC's sound GREAT, edge to Meitner as it's still burning in. Are both DAC's up sampling  from lower rate to 192???? Thanks so much, sorry to be so windy. Robert TN

Your operating system is resampling the audio to 192 kHz. Are you using a web browser to listen to Amazon HD? If so, try downloading the standalone Amazon Music app and see if that switches the sampling rate for each track. If you are using the standalone app and it still doesn’t adjust the sampling rate, try turning on the ’exclusive mode’ option if it isn’t enabled.

FYI, it looks doubtful that even enabling exclusive mode will get the Amazon Music app to switch sample rates.

I've used the Qobuz app on Windows and it definitely supports sample rate switching. Just make sure you select WASAPI exclusive mode by clicking on the little music player icon in the bottom right of the app window. Qobuz is based in Europe, so email is probably the most convenient way to contact them.
