Salk Veracity ST Speakers

I have never heard Salk Speakers. But a YT Video I was watching on the Veracity ST caught my attention for some reason.

They seem like really nice speakers and so I have been researching them since I saw the video and other Salk Speakers.

I currently have Martin Logan Motion 40 Towers paired to a Sugden A21SE Integrated.

The Veracity ST are rated at 88db versus my Motion 40's at 92db.

Both use ribbon tweeters.

I am wondering if the Salk would be a significant upgrade or just a marginal upgrade?

I know that's a tough question to answer without hearing both speakers but wanted to get opinions nonetheless.

Thanks

Jay

Significant Upgrade (my opinion)

I owned the Veracity STs for two years and prior to buying them I heard the Motion 40s many times at BB.

The Salks have the highly praised RAAL ribbon along with the Seas midwoofers in a transmission line set up.  The Motions have an AMT along with their midrange and ported mid woofers.

The Salks go much lower and with more authority...and the top end is much smoother...I always found the Motions to be a little on the bright side.

Both project a good soundstage...although the Salks soundstage is deeper and wider.

Both have a fairly narrow, call it a foot wide, sweet spot, but the Motion is more fussy about the height of the listening position.

There are two other speakers that have great reputations and also use the RAAL ribbon....the Ascend Acoustics Sierra towers and the Dennis Murphy BMR towers....all would be a step up from the motions...but even buying preowned, you will be looking in the $3k+ range.

And oh, that Salk finish...definitely speakers that get noticed and praised when it comes to looks.
