Russians display outstanding musicianship

I've become a huge fan of the Russian cover band Leonid and Friends. I don't mean to ruffle any feathers but I was never much of a Chicago fan. . . until I started listening to this ensemble's killer note-for-note versions, that is. They cover a few other artists as well... Ides of March, Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind and Fire, Steely Dan, for example. The level of musicianship is world-class, both in terms of technique and in terms of bringing each song to life.

@stuartk - I think the lack of interest may have more to do with the band covering Chicago than being Russsian. I’d like to hear and see what the folks from Russia can do.

"The problem isn't between the Russian and American populations, it's the governments"

I agree.

And yet I can't help but wonder whether the lack of interest shown in this thread is directly attributable to the fact I opted to include the nationality. If I'd said "Check out this great Chicago Cover band" , I suspect I'd have attracted more participation.   Strategic blunder on my part!

Glad to hear that the Russians are being received well.  I'm sure they're thrilled to be able to tour the West.

The problem isn't between the Russian and American populations, it's the governments and I'd say that Vladimir gets most of the blame.

Glad to know you enjoy them, mahgister.

They've done several US tours. I don't know if they can help bring the American and Russian populations closer together but I very much hope so. From what I've read, they've been received very enthusiastically, here.
