Rogue Cronus Magnum Dies Help

I was listening to my Rogue Cronus Magnum this afternoon This unit had cap and resistor upgrades done at Rogue by the original owner a couple of years ago., Today suddenly the remote stopped working I changed batteries which were fine I also tried to program a LT 350 but that did not work either I called Rogue but they had no idea. 20 minutes later the volume control started working via remote.

I went for 20 minute walk with the dog. Upon arrival home I found the amp the amp dark No tubes lit , no blue light on. I tried the power button on and off Nothing Unplugged it waited then plugged it in Nothing I checked the power supply fuse and it is fine I checked another large fuse inside. it is fine as are the 4 small ones. Push the power button It does nothing Took it in the kitchen Same thing Dead as a whatever. What happened here?? The main transformer go out??? Thanks

First I want to say  thanks to those that tried to help.
I too am often amazed at responses that get sent on various sites hence I avoid posting much.  Most members try to be helpful  as most on this post have  Then there are other responses that just assume things and are not helpful.   " members will spend pretty much any amount on equipment , cables, speakers,"  Who are you talking about??  Really?? My cables are $100 used interconnects (old AQ and Analysis Plus. Speakers are $400 to $700 used Mirage OM5s, M3s and Infinity RS 2.5s   I did not see a poll on whether something should be posted or not  did I miss it??   FYI  I ship many things and know pretty exactly what it costs and how long it takes.  Nice job riley

I guess the logic of trying to avoid the cost, expense and time as well as possible damage to the item by shipping  and just hoping  someone might have had this experience and it is a simple fix is just to way out there.  Again thanks to those who thoughtfully responded  it will go Rogue
Ok boys lets play nice.  As an FYI  I worked in the audio bizz back in the day  and trained folks in sales and product   I am not a tech but can do basic repairs.  The reason for posting this is in the hopes someone else had this happen and it was simple ie replace transformer or cap. I checked the fuses for continuity .  As for the power switch I thought about that but keep in mind this was sitting there playing and when I cam back it was dead.
Obviously sending it to Rogue is on the list but here is the rub  Even with my FedEx or UPS account it is still $50 to $65 to ship this thing each way and going back and forth is 8 days total just shipping time.  Once there the meter starts running plus parts  pretty sure their rates are high. Point being if I can do it myself or local I need to try.
A couple of strange things . Two hours before this happened the remote stopped working the volume control. I tried to program another remote and it did not work either. I tied everything ,angles distance unplugging the unit and letting it sit for a minute and so on.  I  then called Rogue.  I want to point out I got this 6 months ago used and the guy had sent it into Rogue 3 years ago and spent $400 on a cap and resistor up grade. I have owned it for 5 months. and have talked to Rogue twice with basic questions and it was nice. When I called Friday I did not really feel the love which I will address with them . Did you you change the batteries?? Seriously??? They had no answer but I really felt it was the unit itself  I cam down 30 minutes later and tried and all of a sudden the remote worked.  Very odd.  The unit did have a lsight transformer hum on the shelf but many amps do that.   I did notice a little more noise, /hiss/whoosh form the speakers the last few days but I was also using a different preamp tube and thought it was that. The again caps sometimes  make a whoosh sound right before they go bad.  Point of all this if I cannot get someone who has had this happen to explain then she goes to Rogue. Thanks

Thanks  I little tight in there and with my eyes it might be harder
rodman, Read my post  The timeline is there.  The remote issue (not working and then working)  happened a couple of hours before it died
You are correct bacobits.  Update  It is is on the way.  Proving my point that costs could quickly  get out of hand  Just to ship it one way even with my account  is $83 (normally $93)  It will be slightly less then that coming back say $75  Bench check $175 plus parts for a simply repair anything major and up it goes. Point being for a simply repair (if I am lucky)  minimum of  $350 of which over half is shipping back and forth. Hence the reason I wanted to try and figure it out.  Well at least the experts have it now
Kind of like a dog with a bone?  What is your deal??  Let it go.

I do not take a car to the dealer  I change my own oil. If a bearing goes bad I fix it. If the vacuum cleaner cord needs replacing I do it. If a outlet  is bad I fix it.  If a speaker terminal is bad I replace it  If a tonearm needs rewiring I do it.  (Not good on the eyes for blind guy)   Point being if I can do it I try to.  Sending something and wasting $160 in shipping is a last resort  ONLY if  I cannot do it or have it done locally.  Why is that such a hard concept to understand??

Here is very realistic scenario  and I am almost betting on this kind of thing  They get  10 minutes into the bench check  find out it is a bad cap or something like that   A $5 to $10 part  They remove it and install the new one .  I have done this and it takes maybe 15 minutes  Cost including shipping  Around $360OR
I figure it out or someone says ya that happened to me Here is what I found  $10 cap and 20 minutes of my time DONE
AGAIN why is making an attempt to avoid the hassle and cost of sending it across the country and paying someone 3 digit bench fee  so hard for you to understand?  LET IT GO
It is in their hands now.
The winner is...rodman9999   Bridge rectifier was out  Total cost $330Now I just wonder how this unit would compare to a Marantz PM 14s1?
