Rockna Wavelight server (help)

Hello,

I am still looking for a streamer I see the Rockna Wavelight on the used market  offered to me for $3600 and it’s a year old, one owner. What do you guys think is there a better way to go?…I didn’t pay that much for my dacs, the Denafrips Venus 12th anniversary and the New Ontech Dac 07. ..I am trying to update my current streamer the Magna HIFI Mano ultra mkIII with a separate Farad power supply, the software is giving me fits… If I can’t find the just right streamer I am thinking about changing my whole digital front end to the Meitner MA3i…it would be a whole lot cheaper to find a streamer, looking at 5k budget….

Are you a Roon user, or would you be doing something else for playback? The Rockna servers are really nice and ideal for Roon. The Rockna server app is not the prettiest but it's functional and reasonably easy to use. Overall it's still a workable solution just not as well implemented as something from Aurender, Lumin, Innuos, or Auralic using their native (not Roon) playback.

@v-fi not a Roon user, I have been looking at the Audiobyte SuperHub might be a good choice and not as expensive….

That one looks nice too, Audiobyte is a "sibling" brand to Rockna so they should have at least some similarities, with the Rockna probably being the more advanced design and the Audiobyte probably having the better value for your money. Sorry I have no direct experience with the Superhub though.

I ran a Wavelight server for a while, love it. Really excellent source. Upgraded to a Rockna DAC with built in streaming so no longer needed it, but keep it for some future extra system. Can't comment on the Audiobyte device but easily recommend the Wavelight.
