You shouldn't have to change the crossover as long as the efficiency of the new tweeter is the same as that of the old tweeter... If the efficiency differs, it will play either louder or softer than the original tweeter, thus affecting the overall frequency balance and character of the speaker. I assume that if you're changing to a different tweeter type you would be changing both tweeters in the stereo pair.
