No, just put small squares of Tandy pound of board, from Tandy leather store, under the cones. A small sheet of board is $10. You will be amazed, as I was.
Haven't used the VPI cones, but I've used Stillpoints under my Classe amp and under the Sota Cosmos. For the relatively small investment, there is a much bigger payoff! Go for it...
Have tried many types of feet on the plinths I have been building for Garrards, EMTs and Technics. Nothing has beat Stillpoints for clarity and soundstaging.
