I used to have the Auraliti PK90 back in the day. Great player for that era, made even better when I added a linear power supply. On the downside it could be fussy and didn't always work 100%, even with the simplistic functionality it offered. I put up with it for a long time because I felt the sound was quite good. When it started acting up as it seems yours might be doing, I figured it was time to move on.
Even though I felt the Auraliti was one of the best sounding options when it launched, there are so many more new devices these days that will sound at least as good or better.
Not sure your budget but I would look into Auralic, Innuos, and Lumin as those are all great options. Plenty of second hand models out there from each brand as well.
