Have you looked into some of the tweeter/ DIY forums and websites?
There might be a kit or someone who knows how to integrate it into your 1448.
Some of those guys are really good at what they do.

I might look into tweekin my Schiit Sys with a remote volume. But I'll wait until the warranty is done.
Here's the thing: I've read of possibilities that the remote volume stuff can induce noise into the signal. Not sure if it's been tested or proven.
