I have a P1 and have upgraded to the rega glass platter. It did lower the noise floor. then I tried a herbies way excellent turntable mat and it really lowered the noise floor even further. I did away with the standard MM cartridge and went with a Denon DL-160. Very satisfied with the sound. I thought about upgrading to a P3 as well, but the combination I have in my opinion is very good. only way it would get better is getting a vpi aries.
