Recommendation for cd/SACD player with this system

Could I hear some recommendations on a player for use in my 2 channel playback system. I was looking at a used Sony SCD-C555ES, but now I'm not so sure. I'd like to spend about $800.00 to $1000.00, but no more than that. Considering the state of SACD and DVD-Audio, although with Peter Gabriel releasing his catalog in SACD, I am leaning in that direction. Here is my system:

Paradigm Studio 100's
Plinius 8200 Integrated
Nordost Blue Heaven interconnects
Nordost Blue Heaven speaker cable
Black Diamond Racing cones, MK IV
durwood
Disclaimer: I am a Xindak dealer.

Sorry to stir the pot, but you may want to at least investigate the Xindak SCD-1 or SCD-2 (SCD-1 has solid-state output stage, SCD-2 has tube output stage). Retail is a bit over your stated price range at $1695, but you owe it to yourself to at least consider it. The Xindak is STUNNING for it's price (the only players that I have heard do a better job with Redbook and SACD are 3-4x the price, and even then, it is not a dramatic difference). FYI...My dad and I personally prefer the SCD-2.

I have been publicly "tooting" the Xindak horn so to speak lately, but I am SO impressed by what this player is capable of.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions, as I don't want to waste anymore of the threads time with my biased babbling, unless asked to do so.

Can a dac be used with these players? I have the music fidelity 324 upsampler.
Ditto to Rar1. I have CJ premier tubes and love the c555es for both redbook and SACD. I didn't want to spend alot because of the ever changing and improving world of digital making high dollar players obsolete in a few years.
I am using a SONY SCD-C555ES in a 2 channel playback system and I am quite happy with it for both redbook and SACD playback. My associated equipment is a Musical Fidelity AC3 Integrated Amplifier; Acoustic Research 302 classic series speakers; and Signal cables & interconnects. J&R Music has the SONY new for about $600 ... at that price it is a real good deal (the SONY started out new two years ago at $1800, then down to $1100 last year). Regards, Rich
