Is that even possible? To hear stuff on the other side of the record? I'm not saying that its impossible, but it does seem far fetched.
Rare interference
I was playing one of those albums you only visit once every 20 years and noticed an interesting effect - something I hadn't noticed before (or consciously registered) on an album that Hawkwind fans will recognise - Robert Calvert's "Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters".
During the silences on the first B side track I could hear irritating buzzing coming from the noise floor. After a moment it dawned on me that I was hearing the high intensity engine revving noises from the WWII aircraft during the introduction on side A. The stylus was reading over-print through the disc.
May be one of the consequences of using a line contact stylus.
Tape enthusiasts are accustomed to hearing this type of effect from magnetic leeching, and pre-echo is common but this was slightly unusual.
