Question Reg Wadia ipod dock 170i

I have my music on ipod classic in a lossless format. Connected it to Wadia dock using digital output to my Lexicon preamp.Is there a way I can see the ipod screen on my TV? With ipod on the dock in the cabinet, how can you make selection using the remote(if you can't see the playlist)? I tried hooking an S video from the dock to my TV but it does not show anything.
If its a limitation of the device, I am pretty disappointed. Is there a better option? I tried music on an external hard drive hooked to my Boxee Box which is connected to Lexicon preamp using digital optical, but the quality of sound is not good as compared to Wadia Ipod dock.
