No, your source is the Roon Nucleus which has no I2S output, and beside your Ayon has no I2S input according to information in your link. I wouldn't really worry about it, looks like pretty nice setup as is.

I would be very grateful if a member of the forum could answer the following for me?
My (steamer/dac/preamp)* receives data via ethernet from the router which is connected via ethernet to a roon nucleus steaming quobuz.
Does this mean the signal is I2S from source to end point?
