Quboz cuts off beginning of songs

Here's my current setup:

Fiber Ethernet 300m>Innuos Pulse>Bryston BDA3>Preamp

and my previous setup:

Fiber Ethernet>Bluesound Node 2i w LPS>Schiit Bifrost 2/64>preamp

In both configurations, when the resolution changes, the beginning half second or so is either cut off, or there's    a  brief stutter. If I hit "Back" it plays normally. If I go back to the previous song and make it change the resolution, the same happens. It appears to me that Quboz starts the song before the DAC has changed resolution. So, new streamer, new DAC, same issue.

I've been working with Innuos support to determine if there's a solution using their logs as a view into what's happening. That's still ongoing. But I don't see anyone else with this issue posting about it so I thought I would see if anyone else is experiencing this, or whether anyone has thoughts about what I'm experiencing.

Is it possible that both DACs have an issue with not switching quickly enough? But I've also experienced this using a Chromecast to stream Quboz, so that points to Quboz as the issue. But again, nobody has posted about this.

Any ideas?

The same thing happens with my Node 2i. I'm thinking it's a Quboz issue. Like they don't send the change resolution signal before the music plays.

To add to the confusion, today I received a reply from Bryston explaining that the delay is by design to prevent "pops" during a resolution change. This was true of my Schiit Bifrost as well.

Are there DACs that have another way to deal with this issue. I find it disconcerting that Bryston considers normal.

I've found a combination of things that result in an acceptable solution.

Sense has a Delay setting that addresses it most of the time but is not effective with Quboz Connect which I like to use with playlists because it shows on my phone lock screen. Innuos support says that feature will be available in Sense soon so I look forward to that.

But the BDA-3 has an Upsample Mode that converts everything internally and that, combined with the Pulse delay solves the issue. The only minor drawback is this is only available with SPDIF inputs, not USB. That's ok because I have an excellent coax cable with a BNC connector and that's what Bryston recommends.

Back to the music!
