The Qobuz app originally connected to streamers by airplay ...
Perhaps in your system. But I access Qobuz from the software in a Bryston BDP-3. There's no Airplay involved and the whole system is wired except for control, which is wi-fi.
Qobuz Connect
I was enthusiastic about Qobuz connect when it became available. I have been using Qobuz with Roon and liked it, but Qobuz connect would offer a simpler, more direct connection.
However, I find that Qobuz connect intermittently will stop in a tract mid-stream, provide a notice that it cannot connect to that tract and move on to the next one. I have had this problem with several different high end streamer/dac/preamp setups on several different networks, including in a high end dealer store. The experts there, who are top notch, think that it it is perhaps that Qobuz connect is new and they have not worked out the bugs yet. There have been several updates, but the problem persists.
Anybody else have this problem? Has Qobuz commented on it?
Thanks everybody!
@vicdior agree with you there is some magic going on with those 2 French companies.. Audirvana and Qobuz. Same with Atoll and Audirvana. |
I just abandoned my Ifi zen stream as an Roon endpoint and bought a WiiM ultra. Been playing around with Qobuz connect, Roon and the WiiM software interface. Roons software is by far the best, but the Qobuz connect sounds identical to me. The WiiM was simple to set up and completely reliable, I’m very impressed. We’re living in a small apartment while we search for our retirement landing spot, so I’m using a Rega Brio, Denafrips Ares and the WiiM feeding a pair of QLN stand mounts. Sounds cracking good for the $. |
