PS Audio Direct Stream JR

Has anyone here used the PS Audio Direct Stream JR as a preamp and if so how does it sound/ compare to a separate high end preamp?

Not enough for full output of some amps. Heck, it’s not even up to red book standard. It would be a shame to waste paid for Watts.
