Proper cartridge angle for Shelter 501 using tonearn height adjustment

Running a Shelter 501 on a Technics SL1200 turntable.
I set it up with the bottom of the cartridge parallel with the record surface.  It is also aligned using a Turntable Basics mirror protractor which puts the cartridge exactly flush with the front of the headshell.  Is level the proper placement?  Or should the cartridge be at a slight angle? How about the arm?  Should it be level or maybe slightly higher/lower in the rear?
Thanks for any input. -John

I have the height set at 0.8mm from "0".  It can go up as much as 6mm. This puts it at near min.
Tracking weight at 1-1/4 grams, anti skate at 1-1/4.
I am installing a Sumiko headshell in lieu of the stk Technics.  I figured as long as everything is getting re-aligned I should get some input.  I see on one of your other threads you run the extra weight.  I have never had any tracking or skipping issues, ever.  Is the added weight for sound or tracking?
FYI: The table has the KAB Cardas re-wire and RCA adapter plate.  I believe he stuffs the arm with a light amount of cotton also.
Thanks, John
