Processor Dilemma

I currently have a Marantz SR5002 receiver in my system, that is being driven by a Marantz MM9000 five channel 150 watt amp. I want to replace the receiver with a processor.

Any advice about what processor would be a good choice for me, would be highly appreciated. I really don't want to spend much more than a thousand bucks. I have been considering either a new Marantz AV7005, or a used Marantz AV8003. I just want the best processor for my dollar. Even if it means buying a used one in great condition.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think for -$1000.00, the Marantz AV7005 is a good choice. You could also add little more $$$ and get an Integra pre/pro or an equivalent Onkyo Pro pre/pro.

I think either of these is worth the extra $$$ for the added features including the wonderful Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction.

I absolutely love my NAD T175HD pre/pro but either of the above mentioned pre/pros are better "bang for the buck" units.

I won't make a recommendation on something that I've never used myself, but I've heard so many good opinions on Emotiva products I feel its worth mentioning. Its something I would look at if I was in your situation.
