Problem connecting DIN connector to tonearm

I just got an EAT F-Note tonearm and a Nordost Heimdall 2 tonearm cable. When I use either the EAT supplied tonearm cable or the Nordost tonearm cable, I can't slide the DIN cable all the way on. The key on the cable DIN connector doesn't even reach the slot on the tonearm DIN connector. I'm finding that the cable DIN connector hits the dielectric on the tonearm DIN preventing it from inserting any farther.

Since the EAT tonearm cable doesn't have a ground connector on the tonearm end, where can I connect the ground connector to the tonearm on my Nordost cable? Both cables have a ground connector on the phono preamp end, although the spade is too small on both cables to fit around the post of my phono preamp ground lug.

Thanx for the info!

Although I saw a small protrusion on the top of the tonearm base, it's not an allen screw nor any other screw, and it's behind where the plastic dielectric stop is within the DIN connector. I tried to attach a photo of the cable and the cable inserted into the tonearm, but there is no icon which allows me to upload a file or photo. The photo shows that the cable connector hangs down a little, and it doesn't really take a lot for it to fall out.

I leave the ground spade on the tonearm side disconnected and just connect the ground spade on the phono preamp side. BTW, I've played some LPs already, and it sounds amazing.
