Preamp to sub connectivity question for stereo
I currently have a SVS pb3000 sub which is used with my AV receiver and is plugged in the LFE connection. I have an integrated amp (and very soon to have a separate pre-amp/amp), with both cases, I have the option with line level rca outputs for subs. From what Ive read in the document, it says to plug in both L and R to the Sub. But since my R/LFE is taken, is it ok to simply connect just the L ? Any major downside to this? I guess any subwoofer rca or single rca cable will work.
Next question is, on the SVS app, I will need to figure out to create a new preset , so that I can use the app to change between Home Theater settings and PreAmp Stereo settings. I know this will need some testing and tinkering, but seems like a good starting point is Crossover at 60Hz, Low pass frequency at 50Hz and Low pass filter scope 24 db/octave? seems ok? I have Dynaudio Contour 30i and I was curious to see what it sounds like with a sub.
